Joe Hisaishi / Royal Philharmonic Orchestra 'The Boy and The Heron: Symphonic Suite for Piano and Orchestra' LP

Pre-order. Due 6th November.

Limited marbled vinyl.

Experience Joe Hisaishi's The Boy and The Heron: Symphonic Suite for Piano and Orchestra, a concert adaptation of his acclaimed score for Hayao Miyazaki's Academy Award-winning final masterpiece, The Boy and the Heron. This fourteen-piece suite follows Mahito's journey through grief, memory, and imagination.

Balancing intimate piano passages with rich orchestral detail, the work highlights Hisaishi's voice as composer, pianist, and storyteller. The piano sits at the centre, acting as both narrator and emotional guide throughout one of his most distinctive scores.

It came from an unusually open collaboration, with Miyazaki giving Hisaishi exceptional artistic freedom after much of the animation had already been completed. The result is a deeply personal interpretation of the film, shaped with clarity, feeling, and imagination.
